Conditions this afternoon were a mixed bag. Winds late in the morning were very strong offshore which made for some difficult waves. Size was fairly good staying between knee high and chest high. Conditions just before sunset cleaned up considerably and made for a great session.

Conditions for tomorrow are expected to be about the

same with the swell tapering off a bit in the afternoon.

Waves today in Grande were fun but mixed.
wave height ranged from a couple feet to a couple feet over head.
After 11am it turned pretty sloppy and most of the larger sets
were closing out with a few exceptions.
Winds were great today staying offshore for the entire day.
Tomorrow the swell should be hitting the peak.
With chest to shoulder high waves and clean to fairly clean
conditions predicted.

Thursday, February 10th 2011 (afternoon/evening)

Tamarindo
Waves are coming in but not quit what the predictions had fore-casted.
We´ve seen waist high most of the day but the
wind turned onshore mid-morning crushing most of the wave
and leaving conditions on the choppy side.
We´ll see what tomorrow brings with chest to shoulder high predicted.
High Tides for tomorrow at 8:04am/8:26pm
time of post 6:11pm

Thursday, February 10th 2011 (morning)

Tamarindo
Swell is definitely builing but still a little inconsistent.
Shape is good with size fluctuating between
1-2 ft and waist high sets.
Winds are moving sideshore/offshore but still very calm.
By late afternoon/evening we should start to see waves in the
chest high range.

Wednesday, February 9th 2011 (Afternoon/Evening)

Tamarindo

This afternoon the waves were still hanging around the knees
in Tamarindo.
A couple of sets rolled through that were
reaching for waist high but not quit making it.

If predictions prove true, we should have steady knee
high waves by tomorrow morning increasing to waist
high by the afternoon and near chest high by sunset.
Winds should be moving sideshore but clean conditions
should remain for the am session.
High tide for tomorrow 7:18am/7:38pm

Marbella

Found some good size to the south this morning
with waist high and up and the sets bringing in some
chest to shoulder high waves.

Winds were less than ideal but they weren´t strong enough
to shut down the waves in Marbella.

By tomorrow we shouldn´t have to travel too far to find
waves.

Wednesday, February 9th 2011 (morning)

Tamarindo. Very small with 1-2 foot, knee to thigh high. But winds still good during the morning blowing light offshore. It's expected to start mixing in with a new ground swell that will be bringing better surf for the weekend.

For tomorrow it supose to build a little bit with sets up to chest high and winds will hold calm.

Tuesday, February 8th 2011 (Afternoon)

-Camaronal-
Tamarindo this morning was hovering around knee high
but with usual calm morning winds it was super clean at 6am.
We took off to the south in search of some larger waves,
which we found. Unfortunatley by the time the camera came out
the wind had turned the glassy head high sets into mush.
Tamarindo this afternoon was still small with onshore winds.
After 4:30pm the wind turned off and the waves started coming in
knee to waist high until sunset.
Tomorrow we´re hoping is the bottom of the drop in swell.
Knee to thigh high expected.
High tide tomorrow will be at 6:38am/6:58pm
Time of post 6:56pm

Las Casitas
Tamarindo
Waves had a hard time hitting knee high this afternoon.
Winds switched up on us and remained onshore for almost
the entire afternoon causing some rather choppy conditions.
Right now the wind is pretty mellow but still onshore.
Size remains knee high and under.
Swell predictions for tomorrow remain underwhelming at best.
With knee to thigh high expected.
Winds may not be perfect but they should be calm and sideshore
for most of tomorrow.

Monday, February 7th 2011 (Morning)

Tamarindo
Waves this morning are pretty small and coming in fat.
Mostly in the 1-2 foot range with the ocassional wave
above knee high.
Winds are nice as usual for the A.M. blowing offshore and calm.
Things don´t look like they will be picking up until Thursday
but with high tides in early morning and early evening you
still might be able to get in 2 a day.

Waves came into Tamarindo this afternoon about as expected
with mostly knee high and waist high on the sets.

and near sunset (5:46 pm).
Might be time to start thinking about some dawn patrol...

coming in for 20 to 30 minutes and the rest of the time was
somewhere in the knee to waist high range.
Turtle out of season at the wrong time but the eggs made it
in the sand. :)

Winds right now are howling.
Moving sideshore/offshore.
Waves are in the knee high to waist high range
with shoulder high on the sets.
Shape is looking alright, not too many closesouts,
and some long lefts.
Tomorrow is looking like a similar day
with the swell predicted to stick around until
Saturday A.M. and dying down towards the afternoon.

Thursday, February 3rd 2011

Tamarindo
Strong offshored winds this morning with a few good sets rolling through.
1-2 foot on most but some good waist high sets showed up in the river mouth and out near Pico Grande.
Even at low tide you can tell that the swell is definitely picking up compared with the last few days.
Hopefully we will start seeing those waist to chest high sets closer to high tide.

Some bigger sets were breaking head high further up the beach.
Some great long board waves.
Rigo (pictured just after 12pm)
Avellanas was great today with waves a bit on the small side at the main break,
with sets between waist and shoulder high.
Wind stayed offshore all morning in Avellanas and is still
offshore here in Tamarindo
Fun waves all day with the swell predictions seeming to be about right.
Waves here in Tamarindo right now are about waist high.
